Watching Food Network and thinking...

Why did I chose music?
This is my first blog post, and the question I will constantly ask myself is "Why did I chose music?"
It's the thing I'm good at, but it gets me so frustrated.
I play bass, in case you couldn't tell.

Bragging time:
I recently participated in the NYSSMA All State Conference in the symphonic orchestra. For those of you who don't know, the All State Conference is basically where the best high school players in New York audition and the best of the best are chosen to play together in Rochester.
We played "Pines of Rome" and "Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman", both of which were AHMAHZINGG.
Anyways, All State really started getting me thinking; Do I want to follow through with bass performance, or just go to school for music education? I'm leaning towards performance currently, but things are bound to change a bajillion times hahah.

A little about me:
I'm a junior in high school who's looking to pursue a career in bass performance. I only play double bass, or 'stand up', but I'd love to learn bass guitar. I'm in love with performing not only with bass, but in theatre, too. The most amazing shows I've ever done were The Laramie Project (Catherine Connolly, Barbara Pitts, Kerry Drake) and No Exit (Inez Serrano). Laramie was the most emotional show I've ever done. Knowing that everything said in that show was actually said by a real person was so shocking, and the fact that people have the audacity to do such things to a boy just because he's gay is ridiculous. No Exit really makes you think. Playing Inez and having to think completely different is really awesome and you really have to think each line and how they flow together, it's awesome =]

Anyway, that's all for now. If anybody has read this far, kudos!
